Rita M. Leahy 81, Lake Geneva, died Wednesday June 22, 2016 at the Aurora Hospital, Burlington. Rita was born February 12, 1935 in Mauston, Wi. the daughter ofJames & Emma Feldbruegge Powers. United in marriage to John F.LeahyJune 15, 1957 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Mauston, Wi. John preceded her in death Nov. 16,1997. Rita was a member of St Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, Wisconsin Association of Meat Processers and its treasurer for 21 years. Rita taught Religious Education at St Francis Parish, Served on the Public Library Board. Rita and her husband John owned and operated Lake Geneva Country Meats. Rita graduated from Madonna High School, Mauston, Wi. and Viterbo College, LaCrosse, Wi. Rita taught Elementry School St Josephs Catholic School, Lyons, Wi., St Francis de Sales School, Lake Geneva, Wi. also Grade School in Randall School, Twin Lakes, Wi. and Zenda School. Surviving are Four daughters, Michelle (James) Smith, Burlington, Wt., Theresa (Gary Ketterhagen) Hewitt, Burlington, Kathleen(Scott) Vorpagel, Lake Geneva, Wi. and Baraba (Mark) Hess,Plano, Tx., six Grandchildren, Kendra Gabriel, Caleb Hewitt, Nicholas Vorpagel, Abbey Rosenquist, Kiera & Chloe Hess. Five GreatGrandchildren, August, Greta, Levi, Emilia and Eloise. Sisters, Monica Jerich West Allis, Wi., Mary Carol Powers, Rockford, Il. Louise Maxworthy of Merrick, NY.,Ruth(Bill) Michels of EauClaire, Wi. and Marcia (Scott) Kelly of Springfield, MO.. Brothers, Mark (Jo) Powers of Chapel Hills, NC, Steve (Jane) Powers of Mauston, Wi. and Many Nieces & Nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, sisters Ann Rodgers and Jean Ahler, and a brother Kieran Powers. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00A.M. Monday June 27, 2016 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3:00P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Steinke Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Lake Geneva, Wi. Memorials may be given in Rita's name to St. Francis de Sales Building Fund Project 2017 or a Charity of your Choice.
