Brigitte “Kitty” Six Boersma Duvall, age 77, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, where she was a resident at Kindred Hearts in Elkhorn, WI.
Kitty was born in Straubing, Germany, on June 20, 1947, the daughter of Elsa Six. Elsa married Llewellyn Boersma, while he was stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army on October 7, 1952. Llewellyn then adopted Kitty and the family moved to Coloma, WI, in January of 1953. The family eventually settled in Delavan, WI. Kitty graduated from Delavan-Darien High School in 1965. Kitty married her high school sweetheart Don Fredrick Duvall, on July 22,1967. Kitty and Don celebrated 52 anniversaries together before Don passed away in 2020.
Kitty is survived by one daughter, Denise (Dustin) Kegley, one son, David Duvall (Trish Washburn), and one granddaughter, Brigitte Duvall. Kitty is also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Kitty was a stay-at-home mom until 1978 when she began working in the bindery department at the Shopper-Advertiser in Delavan. She retired from the Shopper in 2010. Kitty is remembered for her quick wit and bright sense of humor. She would laugh, make jokes, and share her beautiful smile with her family members, co-workers, friends, and neighbors through the years. Kitty loved bringing candy treats into work. At home, she always had her own candy jar, filled with M&Ms. Kitty enjoyed reading, playing games, and watching her programs and favorite movies on TV. Some of her favorite shows were the Three Stooges, Andy Griffith, and Disney Movies. Kitty and Don had numerous dogs through their years together. They enjoyed car rides together over the years, with a dog in the backseat of their car on those country backroads.
There will be a private family celebration of life in 2025, with inurnment at Mt. Philip Cemetery in Allen Grove.
