Candace Susan Palmer

August 12, 1953 — June 6, 2023

Candace S. Palmer, 69, of Walworth, WI passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at home. Candy was born in Portland, Oregon, five minutes before her twin sister Caroline, to an English dad and an American mom. She grew up in Woodacre, a small town tucked away in Marin County, California. When she was 10, her family went on the move by ship to Australia, where they lived for about 6 months and then on to England again by ship. The family settled in Shaldon a small town on the coast of South Devon. After high school she went to stay with her aunt and uncle who lived in the east side of Manhattan, New York and enrolled in a school to study secretarial skills. After doing some traveling about the states she returned to Shaldon, England and enrolled in art school; a short time later she met her husband to be Richard. They were married in London on July 25, 1975. Five days later the couple boarded a plane and emigrated to Canada and lived in the Montreal area. During this period she was accepted into Concordia University to study fine arts. Her son Ben was born in 1981 and the now family of three moved to San Diego, California. Candy was a loving wife and mother, and it was here that the family grew with the birth of Robin on April 20, 1984 and again with the birth of Alison on April 22, 1987. While in San Diego, Candy began to monetize her artistic skills creating a small business called Graphic Doodles with a focus on greeting cards and graphic designs. Over the years she had a number of online shops selling her artwork which provided a modest income. She is also famously known by friends and family for her creative, annual Christmas cards. In 1993 the family moved to south east Wisconsin and lived in the Lake Geneva area until buying a house in the Village of Walworth in 1996 which is where she died surrounded by family on June 6, 2023. Candy is survived by her husband Richard; children Benjamin, Robin, and Alison; grandchildren Isabella, Noelle, Arthur, Lucas, and Emily. She is also survived by her brother Fred, twin sister Caroline, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her sister Jennifer.
