Carol Joan Kasten, 86 of Delavan Lake died peacefully at her home of an apparent heart attack on Friday, Feb. 1, 2019. Carol was born May 16, 1933 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Louis W. Kasten and Dorothy Frances Wilson. Carol was a truly exceptional business woman, one of the first women to be allowed to be sol owner and operator of a commercial tavern. She successful ran Pirates Cove from 1975 to 1998 at which time she turned it over to her son Brent. Carol was a longtime member of St. Andrews Catholic Church. A member of the Walworth co. Tavern League. She loved playing golf and was quite adept at the sport. She also enjoyed snow snowmobiling and Jet skiing . She is survived by 4 sons, Robert A.(Char) Kendall of Lodi, WI , Brent (Kimi) Kendall of Delavan, Richard (Edilma) Kendall of Delavan and James Wehrwein of Delavan. 1 sister, Beverly Kasten of Lake Geneva and 1 brother, Warren Kasten of Lake Geneva. 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A daughter Cindy recently predeceased her. Funeral services will be 1pm Wed. Feb. 6th at St. Andrews Catholic Church with the Rev. Oriol Regales officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 11am to 1pm on Wednesday. Betzer Funeral Home is serving the family. A reception after the burial will be held at the Pirates Cove, Delavan Lake. Service Details.
