Charles “Chuck” John Nendza, age 78, passed away peacefully in his home on June 24, 2026 in Lake Geneva, WI. He was born July 9, 1947 to the late Andrew and Mary (Gruber) Nendza in Marshfield, WI.
Chuck proudly served in the Military from 1966-1969. After his service, he worked at Chaney's Instrument Company, while also taking a course in electronics. He then went on to build and run his own television repair business until his retirement in 1997.
In his younger years, Chuck was the drummer in a local cover band called The Renegades (featuring his brother, Ken and his brother-in-law, Gene Sween), that frequently played at Clair Lounge (currently Kilwins in Lake Geneva).
Throughout his life, he enjoyed a wide range of hobbies including restoring and recording music, woodworking, automotive restoration, black-smithing, beer-brewing, astronomy, computers, and metal working. His knowledge was vast and he was happy to share it with anyone who wanted it. Chuck had a love of travel and even took a summer trip cross-country on the back of a scooter (with brother-in-law, Roy Hetzel). Chuck had a passion for tinkering, a knack for making everyone laugh, and he never met a garage sale he could pass up. He was a collector through and through.
But his greatest joy in life was spending time with his grandsons, Hudson and Emerson Heidt. He was a steady and loving presence in their lives, leaving them with cherished memories of many adventures together.
Chuck is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Peggy (Kinney), who lovingly cared for him at home until his last breath; loving children, Charles Nendza Jr. and Jamie (Lance) Heidt; grandsons, Hudson and Emerson Heidt; brother, Kenneth Nendza; sisters, Virginia (Jack) Caceres and Bonita Jane; brother-in-law, Paul Herber; and sister-in-law, Dodie Nendza. Along with his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann Herber; brother, Andrew Nendza Jr.; brother-in-law, Roy Hetzel; and sister-in-law, Claire Nendza.
He was loved by many, will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of life will be held in honor of Chuck at a later date.
