Clarence B. Read, 83 years, longtime resident of Lake Geneva and currently of Elkhorn, passed to eternal life on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at his residence.
Clarence was born on December 9, 1939 in Elkhorn to Clarence G. and Madalyn (Barrett) Read. Clarence married Elizabeth J. Welch on June 23, 1959 in Elkhorn. She preceded him in death on February 14, 2017 and he married Susan Cooler on May 22, 2019 in Lake Geneva.
Clarence was a Longtime member of St. Francis de Sales Church in Lake Geneva, Knights of Columbus Council 1647, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Assembly 1685 in Burlington, and an IBEW Union Member. Clarence was a longtime area electrician. He is survived by his wife Susan, children Loraine “Lori” (Craig) Seabrooks of Prescott, AZ, Clarence M. (Jacki) Read of Phoenix, AZ, Jeffrey (Cindy) Read of Eagle River AK, and Timothy (Julie) Read of South Elgin, IL; stepchildren Sarah Cooler of Lake Geneva, WI, and Daniel (Tessa) Cooler of Clinton Twp, MI; grandchildren Aundrea (Brandon) Boyd, Heather (Ben) Lawson, Cortney and Clarence Garrett Read, Jeffrey Brandon (Noelia) Read, Alexander (Michael) Read, Amber Read, Aileen (Justin) Mower, Kylee and Justeen Read, Ava, Collin and Ember Cooler. Great grandchildren Ellie Elizabeth and John Graham Lawson, Branson and Barrett Boyd, Jeffrey and James Read, Rowan and Maren Mower; his sister Mary Read; sisters-in-law Sharon and Diane Read. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Preceded in death by his parents, first wife Elizabeth, and brothers John and Patrick Read.
Visitation will be at the Lazarczyk Family Funeral Home-Lake Geneva (515 Center Street) on Thursday, November 30th from 3-6pm and on Friday, December 1st, from 9-9:30 am with procession to Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery.
