Daniel M. Lievens

d. November 18, 2020

Our beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, Daniel Martin Lievens, went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ, on November 18, 2020. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Phillips Lievens, his children, William Henry Lievens II (wife Amy, son Darren), Brian Martin Lievens (wife Bethany, daughters Anna, Nora, Talia, Lyra, and Sophia), and Heather Brenna Costner (Lievens) (husband Sam, sons Maverick and Uriah), his sisters MaryAnn Wojtowicz-Whitney (husband Terry), Peggy Lievens Thomas (husband Frank), and Therese Lievens Rayburn (husband Richard); and numerous cousins , nephews and nieces! He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret Lievens, brother, George Lievens, sister-in-law Dorothy (Pudge) Williams Lievens, and brother-in-law, George Wojtowicz. Daniel grew up in Lockport, IL with his family, his father William Henry Lievens and mother Margaret Loncka Lievens. He attended the St. John's School for the Deaf in Milwaukee, WI (class of 1971). During his adult life, he resided in Downers Grove, IL, and worked at the United States Post Service distribution center in Palatine, IL for 30 years. He married Sharon in May of 2002 and recently celebrated 18 years of marriage. Daniel's children and 8 grandchildren live in Hamilton, OH and Delavan, WI. He loved spending time with his family, gathering for delicious meals, and watching the Chicago Bears, the Blackhawks and especially the Cubs. Daniel was saved by the Lord Jesus Christ in 1991 and since then has led many people to the Lord. Daniel was an active member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Schaumburg, IL since 2001 where he served and taught Sunday school. In 2014, he began traveling with the Romans Road for the Deaf missions group to share the Good News all over the country. He faithfully spread the gospel over70 mission trips. Daniel was blessed with the gift of seasoning his conversations with the Good News. In addition, he deeply enjoyed mentoring young Deaf and hearing men in their walks with Jesus Christ. Even in his final days, Daniel was telling others of Jesus' saving grace and ready to go to his new home in heaven. While our family is deeply saddened to lose Daniel, we rejoice that he is in the presence of Jesus Christ, where he will not suffer any longer, where he will never shed a tear, and where he will sing, "Worthy is the Lamb!" in American Sign Language, forever. Betzer Family Funeral Home of Delavan, WI is proudly serving the family. Service Details. Service When Saturday, November 21st, 2020 3:00pm
