David R. Peters

David R. Peters age 81 of Burlington, WI. passed away peacefully on Saturday September 16, 2017 at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn, WI. He was born in Black River Falls on April 29, 1936 son of Floyd and Myrtle (Hermanson) Peters. On June 16, 1956 he married the love of his life Lucy Jane Young at a candlelight ceremony at Linn Presbyterian Church in Zenda, WI. They met on a blind date while they both worked at admiral and married 4 months later. Dave worked at American motors for years. Then he and Lucy Jane owned a supper club in Menomonie, WI. for 3 years. They then moved to Elkhorn, WI. where he worked for Culligan until he went to work at Badger High School. He retired after several years on June 13, 1998. He returned to Badger High School part-time as he missed the kids, and continued for a total of 28 years receiving many awards for attendance. David was part of the Wisconsin Southern Lakes Riders from 1985-1999 and loved riding his Honda Goldwing Trike with his love Lucy Jane. In 61 years of marriage David and Lucy Jane had 4 children and took in over 34 foster children. David was an amazing man who loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved traveling to Black River Falls, WI. to spend time with family. David is survived by his Loving wife Lucy Jane (Young) Peters Loving father of Barbara (Bob) Talaber-Fontana, WI., Robert Peters-San Antonio, TX., Joyce (Ken) Nendza-Williams Bay, WI., Denise (Russ) Zank-Janesville, WI. and Lori Crivello-Milwaukee, WI. Loving grandfather to 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Brother of 2 sisters Ruth Ann (Lynn) Finch-Black River Fall, WI., and Frances Tibbits-Edgewater, FL. and 3 brothers James Peters-Trempealeau, WI., Jack (Nelle) Peters-Elkhart Lake, IN., and Cecil (Aloha) Peters-Black River Falls, WI. David is preceeded in death by his parents, Stepfather Gordon, one granddaughter Stephanie Abell, Two sisters Virginia and Violet, 3 brothers Ernest, Richard, and Joseph. Service for David Peters will be held 11:30a.m. on Saturday September 23, 2017 at Steinke-Lazarczyk Funeral Home Lake Geneva, WI. Visitation will be from 10a.m. to time of service.
