Donald James Brandel

Donald James Brandel, age 87, of Lake Geneva, WI., passed to eternal life on Monday, November 20th, 2023, at Javon Bea Hospital in Rockford, IL. Donald was born on August 31, 1936 in Chicago, IL to Sydney and Elsie (nee Becker) Brandel. He married Noreen Przybylski on September 16, 1961, and she passed away on March 28, 1980. He then married Marilyn Dudzik (nee Brennan), on January 2, 1982 at St. Christopher Church in Midlothian, IL.

Don was a longtime member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and the Lake Geneva Knights of Columbus Council 1647. Don is survived by his wife Marilyn, children Scott (the late Andrew Rainer) Brandel, Nadine (Dennis) Reid, Craig (DeAnn Forest) Brandel and Denise (Robert) Casper, step children Lynn Lonergan, Lauren (David) Osika and Jeffrey Dudzik. Devoted Grandpa of Taylor and Addison Kraft, Ryan (Jenna) Lonergan, Brittany (Timothy) Dudek, Shannon (James) Angel and Kevin Osika, Great grandfather of Thomas, James and Charlotte Lonergan and Eli Angel. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Preceded in death by his first wife Noreen, father Sydney, mother Elsie, siblings Lorraine (Raymond, the late Walter Skarr) Ohm, Robert (Angeline) Brandel, Bernard (Trudy) Brandel, Sydney, and three infants, Raymond, Josephine, and Eleanor.

Visitation will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church (148 W. Main Street, Lake Geneva, WI) on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 10:30 - 11:30am with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am with Fr. Ray Guthrie officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulcher Catholic Cemetery, Alsip, IL on Thursday, November 30th, 2023 at 11am.
