Donna Mae Bonhag

Donna Mae Bonhag, of Waterford, Wisconsin, passed away November 11, 2019. She was 82. Donna was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on January 3, 1937. Always an independent woman, she raised her two daughters as a single mom, sometimes working three jobs to support them. Donna took great pride in her work and enjoyed a great career as a Human Resources and Training professional at AMCORE Financial and Rocknel Fastener. She retired in January 2007. Her great passion was running, taking up running at age 40. She was an avid runner, usually running at 5 am, on the Rockford Bike Path. She ran up until age 75. Donna was preceded in death by her partner, Ralph North and her granddaughter, Jessica Schindler. Her survivors include two daughters: Susan (Carl) Schindler of Lake Geneva, WI, and Jill (Joe) Beadles of Springfield, Virginia. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Samantha Schindler of Milwaukee, Adam Schindler of Alma, Colorado, Jake Schindler of Lake Geneva, Nicholas, Joe, and William Beadles of Springfield, VA, and two great-grandchildren, Desirae and Carter Hudson of Lake Geneva. Private family services will be held at Steinke-Lazarczyk Funeral Home (515 Center Street, Lake Geneva) in January. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
