Donna Ann Rice

Donna Ann (Fenn) Rice died peacefully in her home on Saturday, May 6, 2017, after being lovingly cared for by her family. Donna was welcomed into heaven after spending her life on heavens front porch. The daughter of John and Judy Fenn, Donna was born on May 13, 1935 in Elkhorn Wisconsin. Donna was raised in Delavan Wisconsin, graduated from Delavan High School in 1953. She graduated from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee Wisconsin with an education degree in 1957. Upon graduation Donna taught for two years at St. Mary's grade school in Burlington, Wisconsin. Donna married Charles Francis Rice on April 4, 1959. They initially enjoyed living in Lyons, Burlington and then Palatine, Illinois before making Delavan her final home again. Donna and Chuck also wintered in Tucson Arizona. She was proud to be the mother of Julie, Cindy, Mary and Bob. Donna's priority was always her family. She actively volunteered for her children's activities; Camp Fire Girls, Girl Scouts, CCD, Cheerleading, Dance, Field Trips and fishing trips with her son Bob. Donna loved driving, golfing, boating, sailing, St. Andrews Adult Choir, traveling, daily trips to McDonalds and sharing time with her friends. Donna enjoyed volunteering for the Delavan Human Concerns, Delavan Service League and the food pantry. Donna was a chauffeur for her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved watching their activities. In March of 2017 she was blessed to spend a week in Tucson, AZ with her four children revisiting some of her favorite places. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who will be deeply missed by her children: Julie Rice Delavan, WI, Cindy (Brian) Kotajarvi Rochester, MN, Mary (Paul) Bennett Plainview, MN and Bob (Janet) Rice East Troy, WI; eleven grandchildren, Laura (Adam) Barkes- Nielsen, Michael and Jessica Barkes, Kyle, Lauren, Justin and Ryan Kotajarvi, Nicole Akins, Morgan and Connor Jensen and Nathan Rice. Donna also adored her eleven great grandchildren; Taylor, Brayden, Ben, Jack, Levi, Willow, Mika, Porsche, Natalie, Landon and Lydia. She is also survived by Two brothers: John (Bud) and Kathy Fenn, James and Cathy Fenn, both residing in California and her sister-in- law, Donna Rogers, Elkhorn, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Rice in 2001 and her parents John and Judy Fenn. Visitation will be Saturday May 20 th from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at St. Andrew's Church, Delavan, WI with mass at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Andrew's Choir or the Delavan Human Concerns, both of which were important to Donna.
