Dorothy D. Hansen, 77, of Delavan, died in her home Wednesday, January 17, 2018 of natural causes surrounded by her children. Dorothy was born September 15, 1940, in Waukesha, Wisconsin, the daughter of Richard and Sylvetta Smith. Dorothy loved to help others and meet new people. She volunteered at a local hospital as a candy striper before marrying her first husband and high school sweet heart, Forrest "Bill" Miller. Together they had five daughters, who she stayed home to raise with much joy. After marrying her second husband, Raymond Hansen, she added two more children to her brood, the last being the baby boy she always wanted. Dorothy was very proud of all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She found much joy in spending time with her family and with the numerous friends she met through the years while bartending at various Lake Delavan establishments, and being a part of many pool and euchre leagues. She also worked in the deli at Delavan Mobil and the bakery at Pick N Save. Many of the people she met over the years called her Mom or Grandma and she always welcomed them into her heart and arms. She will be greatly missed by her entire family and her friends.
