Eleanore G. Barth, 89 years old, longtime resident of Lake Geneva, entered into Eternal Life on her birthday, November 8, 2023 following a short illness at Lakeland Medical Center. She was surrounded by her family as she passed.
Eleanore was born on November 8th, 1934 in Chicago to Henry and Katherine (nee Lutz) Breunig. She married the late Werner H. Barth on May 7, 1960 in Chicago, IL. Eleanore and Werner moved to Lake Geneva in 1975 and together they raised their three daughters.
Eleanore was a longtime member of Calvary Community Church, the Lake Geneva Garden Club, the Lake Geneva Women’s Club, the Christian Women’s Club, and the Red Hats Society. Throughout her life Eleanore did secretarial work for many different businesses. She made friends everywhere she went and held those relationships dear to her heart.
She was lovingly called “Oma” by her family and she was incredibly proud of her children and grandchildren. Her family meant everything to her. She was always there to support her grandchildren in all of their endeavors.
Eleanore had the gift of hospitality and enjoyed entertaining others in her home. Anyone who stopped by was guaranteed a cup of coffee and delicious sweets. She held all of the family gatherings in her home, as the table just kept expanding into the living room to seat more guests. Eleanore had a servant’s heart and was always willing to help others in any way she could.
Eleanore is survived by her three daughters, Krista Meuer, Karla (Jeffrey) Kostein, and Anita (Peter) Palmer, six grandchildren, Paul (Katie), Katie, Eric, Bryan (Natalie), Bradley and Emily. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Werner (February 16, 1996), her parents Katherine and Henry Breunig, and brother William.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Calvary Community Church with visitation from 10-12(Noon), followed by a funeral service at 12 (Noon). Private Interment: Roselawn Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to The Time is Now to Help (P.O. Box 1, Lake Geneva, WI 53147).
