Fern Winifred Murphy

Fern Winifred Murphy, 99, died at Ridgestone Village on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2017 after a short illness. Fern was born Jan. 5, 1917 in Chicago, Ill the daughter of Fred Kurtz and Emma Fritz. She married Fred Murphy, July 21, 1945 in Chicago, Ill. Fern worked at Sloan Valve Co for many years and then at Marshall-Field and Co. She was a very active member of St. Andrews Catholic Church and its Bible study group. She out lived all her family. Her 1 Sister Virginia Lindquist died 6 years ago, her son died Oct. of 2015 and her husband died in 2002. Funeral services will be con-celebrated by Fr. Fred Zagone and Fr. Michael Dineen at 10:30am Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016 at St. Andrews Catholic Church. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial is in Spring Grove Cemetery.
