Genevieve "Jean" Bogart

July 21, 1946 — August 4, 2025

Genevieve (Jean) Helen Syputa Bogart, 79, of Lake Geneva, passed away on August 4, 2025, at 11:00 PM—She was surrounded by her family as she peacefully passed from this life.

Jean was born on July 21, 1946, to Phillip and Stella Syputa of Palatine, Illinois. The second daughter of hardworking Polish immigrants, Jean carried their grace, grit, love, and unshakable work ethic with her every day. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Jean was a vivacious, outspoken, and endlessly loving woman who could light up any room she entered. She never let a day go by without reminding those she cherished just how much they meant to her. She was often found listening to “her man” Elvis Presley, cooking in her kitchen, preparing extra to fill her freezer, and posting her culinary creations, reading a book with her beloved cat on her lap, tending to her beautiful garden, or lovingly talking about her family to anyone who would listen. Jean will be remembered by those who loved her as a loving mother and friend, who took the care to show this love through a comfortable tidy home she welcomed to many people and animals over the years, her beautiful decorations for holidays that her grandchildren will always remember, and special meals that she made just for them.

A proud Palatine Pirate, Class of 1964, Jean forged lifelong friendships, particularly with Suzie, Kathy and Barb who remained close all their lives. She devoted 28 years to Brunk Industries, a career in which she took great pride, and made many dear friends. In her youth, Jean spent her days riding horses, attending concerts by the Beatles, Ronnie McDowell, and Elvis, creating beautiful works of art, and escaping to Lake Geneva, a place she eventually called home in 1970.

Jean is survived by her three children, Shannon, Jason, and Jaime Bogart; her seven grandchildren, Jasmine, Keura, Olivia, Jenasis, Steven, Elijah, and Gavin; her beloved niece Tracey Anne; and two nephews, Todd and Scott Moore, along with their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Irene Moore, her deeply loved brother-in-law Frank Moore, and her two brothers, Phillip and Edward Syputa.

A celebration of Jean's life will be held at a later date. Announcement to follow. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to Lakeland Animal Shelter in Jean’s name.

Jean’s family and friends take comfort in knowing that she always knew how deeply she was loved. We are forever grateful for the warmth of her love, and the memories she leaves behind will live on in our hearts forever.
