Genevieve J. Borst, 90, Lake Geneva, WI died Wednesday Jan. 8, 2014 at the Arbor Village Of Geneva Crossing, Lake Geneva. Genevieve was born June 28, 1923 in Lake Geneva, WI the daughter of Leonard & Gertrude Vorpagel Helgert. United in marriage to Arnold Borst Aug. 4, 1945 in Lake Geneva, WI. Member of St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters and the Retired Teachers Association. She Graduated from Whitewater State Teachers College with a Teaching Degree then went on to Teach in a 1 room rural school for 7 years, then taught in the Fontana Elementary School for 33 years, retiring in 1987. After retiring Genevieve traveled with family and friends. She also took in many stray cats in her lifetime. Surviving is her daughter Rebecca (Mark) Hohlstein, Madison, WI, 2 grandchildren, Alexander & Tyler, 2 nephews, Richard (Kathleen) Pieters, and Steven (Candy) Pieters, and a niece, Beverly Pretzman. Preceded in death by her parents, her husban Arnold, 1 sister, Marilyn Pieters. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday Jan. 13, 2014 at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Schuerman officiating. Burial will be held at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Cemetery, Lyons Twnsp. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. to time of services at the church.
