Gregory F. Hebel, 82 of Lake Geneva, passed to eternal life on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Aurora Hospital in Mount Pleasant. Gregg was born on March 13, 1943 in Chicago to the late George and Genevieve (Steiner) Hebel. Gregg married Elaine Trimpler on May 23rd, 1970 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Chicago, IL and he joined her in heaven in time to celebrate their 55th Wedding Anniversary. Together they had three children, Michael (Jeanette) Hebel, Kathleen (Shane) Harris and Carolyn (Kevin) Ward. Gregg was also the proud pawpaw of Tyler, Izzy, Sawyer and Shaelin. He is also survived by his sister Beverly Spina, grand pets, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Gregg was preceded in death by his parents, wife Elaine on October 31, 2021, his brother Ken Hebel, Sister-in-law Maryann Hebel and Brother-in-law Sam Spina. Gregg had a great sense of humor and sometimes sarcastic, but he loved to laugh and tell jokes to make all have a wonderful laugh or smile. He worked hard during his career as an engineer at Homaco to provide for his family and allowing Elaine to be home to care for the kids. He looked forward to spending time with his family whenever he could from Family dinners to the many family fishing trips where he had the opportunity to teach his kids how to fish and spending time with his grandkids on Como Lake teaching them how to fish. Family meant the world to Gregg and he enjoyed every moment he could with all of them and even watching all of his favorite Chicago Sports Teams he grew up with. When Gregg retired, he had more time to work on his green thumb he loved his garden that he had and making sure his lawn was luscious and green. When the day was done, he would sit back with a cold beer and watch the Como Sunset. A visitation will be held on June 3rd, 2025 from 9 to 11am at the Lazarczyk Family Funeral Home-Lake Geneva (515 Center Street). Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon at St. Benedicts (137 Dewey Ave, Fontana, WI). Interment with his beloved wife Elaine will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Geneva.
