Gus S. Mantis 83, Elkhorn, Wi. passed away Wednesday Sept. 14, 2016 at the Lakeland Health Care Center, Elkhorn, Wi. Gus was born Nov. 26, 1932 in Chicago, Il. the son of Sarantos & Evanthis Giftakos Mantis. United in marriage to Despina Andrews in 1956, Chicago, Il. and she preceded him in death April 1, 2001. Member of the Kimossis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church, Racine, Wi. Owned & Operated Manor Wholesale Produce in Chicago, Il for several years and then Greenfield Farms Produce in Elkhorn, Wi., retiring in 2002. Served in the US Army during the Korean War. Surviving is a daughter Connie (Michael) Gatz, Elkhorn, Wi., a granddaughter Zoe Gatz, a Sister Katherine(Spiro) Vaselopulos, Palatine, Il... Preceded in death by his parents. Services will be held at 11:00A.M. Tuesday Sept. 20, 2016 at the Steinke Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Lake Geneva, with Fr. Athanasios officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery, Lake Geneva.
