Guy Richard Kelly

Guy Richard Kelly, 84 of Darien, WI passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at his home,. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, February 25, with visitation at 9 AM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 416 W. Geneva Street, Delavan, WI 53115. Reverend Rickman and Reverend Ritter will be officiating. Memorials may be made to Southern Lakes Association of the Deaf. Those wishing to sign Guy's guest book may do so at betzerfuneralhome.com Guy was born March 27, 1932 to Cloyd and Ethel (Cass) Kelly. He attended the Wisconsin School for the Deaf. On April 24, 1954, he married Betty Sanderson in Columbus, WI. Guy was employed at Borg Fabrics as a Machinist for 31 years until Borg closed in 1981. He worked part time at the Wisconsin School for the Deaf as a Child Care Counselor for 20 years. In 1969, he was involved with the Telecommunications Device for the Deaf distribution, installer, repairman and trainer. He has been retired for over 30 years. In 2004 he was inducted into the Wisconsin School for the Deaf Hall of Fame for his services to the Deaf Community. Guy enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, hunting, camping, making people laugh with his humorous stories. He has devoted a lot of his time to the Southern Lakes Association of the Deaf. He was a member and an officer for many organizations such as Wisconsin Association of the Deaf, Madison Association of the Deaf, National Fraternal Society of the Deaf, and Wisconsin Deaf Campers. He also enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Guy is survived by his wife, Betty, two sons, Ed of Long Beach, CA and Dean and his wife Susie of Darien, WI; two of his grandchildren Ryan and his partner, Jill of Indianapolis, IN and Casey and his partner, Nola of Darien, WI. Four great grandchildren, Jett of Indianapolis, IN and Kyra, Zeke, and Koby of Darien, WI. One Brother, Steve of Green Valley, AZ and Evelyn Duesterbeck of Delavan, WI.
