April 1, 1935 — August 31, 2022

Harold William Zilisch Jr. "Bill" passed away peacefully on August 31, 2022, surrounded by loved ones, in Oak Creek, Wisconsin at age 87. Bill was born on April 1, 1935, in Janesville, Wisconsin to Harold and Dorothy Zilisch. He attended Delevan High School and continued onto the University of Wisconsin-Madison graduating with a BBA. He was a proud family man, who gave special priority to supporting charities, volunteering in the community, and giving back. He was a member of the Madison Literacy Council where he tutored English as a second language and helped many people achieve their United States citizenship. Bill spent many years managing the historic Lake Lawn Lodge resort along with his parents in Delavan, Wisconsin. He also served honorably, with active duty in the United States Navy. Bill loved playing and watching sports, including golf, tennis, and bowling. He also enjoyed biking, with regular trips around Lake Mendota in Madison. He supported the UW-Madison sports as well as the Brewers and Packers. A few of his fondest memories were supporting the Brewers at game 5 of the 1982 AL Championship Series and at game 3 of the 1982 World Series as well as attending the great Packer Ice Bowl of 1967 at Lambeau Field. Faith was very important to Bill. He attended All Saints Lutheran Church and enjoyed singing a cappella with the choir. He loved chocolate, watching Jeopardy, and using his wit to complete Sudoku and crossword puzzles. He always arrived early so he could enjoy every minute with you. His loving heart left a beacon of light for all in the community and he will forever be in our hearts. Bill is survived by his four children Jeff (Tracy and her son Austin); Lindsay (with her daughter Emily DeBoer and son Logan DeBoer); Eric (Victoria Zilisch and daughter Brittany Minikel (Justin and daughter Emma), son Joseph Zilisch (Asheema Saripalli), daughter Summer Zilisch and son Joshua Zilisch); and Lauren (with her daughter Alexa and son Johnathan). Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Harold William Zilisch Sr. and Dorothy Elizabeth (Swartz) Zilisch and his sister, Audrey Elaine McClellan. Private family services to honor Bill's life will be held, followed by private burial at Spring Grove Cemetery.
