Harvey L. Long

Harvey L. Long, 76, longtime resident of Lake Geneva, WI passed away to eternal life on Saturday, April 6, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at home.

Harvey was born in Mason City, IA son of the late Victor and Mary (Olsen) Long on February 1, 1948. He was proud to serve in the Navy and was honorably discharged as a Corpsman. He married the love of his life, Judy Azcona on October 1, 1976 in Waukegan, IL. Harvey graduated from Iowa State University studying Social Anthropology and Sociology. He later went on to be an activity therapist and then an assistant store manager for the Vitamin Shoppe.

Harvey loved photography, camping, staying at different Bed & Breakfasts, as well as hiking. He was a veracious reader with an encyclopedic mind. Before there was Google, there was Harvey.

Harvey is survived by his wife of 47 ½ years, Judy C. Azcona-Long; children Brian Long, Mikal Long, and Sara (Tony) Dople. He is also survived by grandchildren; sister Patricia Sham; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Judith Merris.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home (515 Center Street, Lake Geneva) on Sunday, April 14, 2024 from 10 to 11:30a.m. with a service at 11:30a.m. Private burial will happen at the Clear Lake Cemetery in Iowa.
