December 1, 1960 — November 23, 2025

Delavan

James Albert Espinos, 64 years old of Delavan, WI passed away Sunday, November 23, 2025. He was born December 1, 1960 to the late Mariano and Cecilia (Taraj) Espinos; in the south side neighborhood of Chicago known as 'Back of the Yards' and raised in a loving family with six siblings. As the family aged, Sunday dinners kept the family close with card games, movies, and lots of laughter. Jim graduated from Quigley South High School in 1978 and was united in marriage with Diane Malcak in LaGrange Park, IL in 1985. Jim spent 32 years at Dominick's Grocery Stores before finishing his career there as a store manager. After that, he ran a Party City and progressed to Dollar Tree from which he fully retired in 2024. Jim enjoyed music; he played his electronic keyboard along with his favorite songs and Christmas carols at the holidays. Sports had always been an interest, both professional sports and personal. He enjoyed bowling, basketball, and golf with friends and family over the years. Jim had his best golf game ever playing with his golfing buddy, his mother-in-law, Lois. Even though Jim and Diane moved to Wisconsin in 2023, Jim was dedicated to the Bears, Blackhawks and White Sox - often coaching from the couch. He will be missed.

Survivors include his loving wife, Diane; son, Michael (Nina) Espinos; daughter, Melanie Espinos; grandchildren, Penelope, James, and Juliet Espinos and Ramesses and Naunet Thomas; siblings, Ben, Sr. Rose Cecile, Theresa McVeagh, Sr. Josephine, Ruth, Thom (Pam); nieces and nephews, Mickie (Curt) Buonamaci and Bill (Suzan) Espinos; and great-nieces and nephews, Allison, Matthew, and Jack Espinos, and Will Marks. Along with his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sisters-in-law, Marian and April Espinos; brother-in-law, Frank McVeagh; and parents-in-law, Anthony and Lois Malcak.
