Janice (McSorley) Watts, 92, of Delavan, passed away, surrounded by her children on October 23, 2017. Janice was born on March 9, 1925, in Des Moines, Iowa the daughter of Benedict and Abigail (Goff) McSorley. Janice graduated from Delavan High School and attended Prospect Hall in Milwaukee. She returned to Delavan to help run McSorley's Groceries and Meats. She married James Watts in 1946. Jan was employed by the Wisconsin School for the Deaf for over 30 years, ending her tenure there as Dean of Students. Jan cared so much about the Deaf community and staff that she retained lifelong friendships after she retired. Retirement allowed her the time to help others; she was always the first to bring soup or a home cooked meal to someone in need of comfort. She loved her children, took great joy in their families, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and truly enjoyed the time that everyone spent together. Jan is survived by her children; Patrick Watts, Williams Bay, Robert (Lori) Watts, Greendale, Kathryn Krase, Somerset, KY, Kevin (Theresa) Watts, Delavan and Suzanne (Jim) Scibek, Oak Park, IL; Grandchildren; Elischa Watts, Ryan McCarty, Tiffany Watts (Zack) Buell, Brian (Lindsey) Watts, Sam Scibek, Mack Scibek, Camille Scibek, Ashlie Pharris (Kevin) Moelter and Chad Pharris. Great Grandchildren; Auston Nowack, Gavin Nowack, Keira Buell, Hannah Buell,Brady Watts, Ahna Moelter, William Moelter, a very special sister-in-law, Maryann McSorley and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brothers; Robert, Phil, Harry and Don McSorley, daughter- in-law, Jean Watts and son-in-law, Herbert Krase. Funeral Mass will be held 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 18 at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Delavan, WI, with Fr. Bill Key officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions to: Smile Train, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, or The Lakeland Animal Shelter. Betzer Funeral Home in Delavan, WI, is assisting the family.
