It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jeanette Vitullo on October 25, 2024. She was 84 years old.
Born on July 1st, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, to Sam Gallo and Rose (Serratore), Jeanette grew up in Chicago with her 3 late siblings [her twin, Jean Gallo (Bertone); Josephine Gallo (Louis); and Frank Gallo] and later moved to Cicero after marrying the love of her life, Donald J. Vitullo. As their family grew, they moved to Delavan, Wisconsin. Jeanette was a dedicated and loving wife to her husband, a devoted mother to her 4 children, Donald (Mary Ann) Vitullo, Christopher (Crystal) Vitullo, Benjamin Vitullo, and Dana (Ali) Albaghdadi; a caring grandmother to her 10 grandchildren, Giovanna (Jake) Cournoyer, Marisa Vitullo, Isabella Vitullo, Sabrina Vitullo, Benjamin Vitullo, Ammar Albaghdadi, Mena Albaghdadi, Nicholas Vitullo, Davanie Vitullo, and Marco Vitullo; and her 2 great-grandchildren, Adra Cournoyer and Gia Cournoyer.
Jeanette lived a fulfilling life and was a woman of faith and love. She was the matriarch of her family, always ready to host gatherings and share her Italian traditions. She also played a caretaker role for her late mother-in- law, Viola Vitullo (Pasquini), visiting her near daily until the day of her passing. Jeanette was full of joy, her laughter was contagious, and she always assumed the best in others, never hesitating to put others’ needs before her own.
Jeanette was devoted to the Catholic Church and attended St. Andrews where she served on the Parish Counsel and supported the church in numerous ways over the last 5 decades. She was also a steward of the larger Delavan community, connecting with so many others through her 20 years of service at the local Walgreens, where everyone knew her name.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents and siblings (named above) as well as her nephews, Sam Bertone and Frank Gallo, Jr. She is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will all miss her dearly. Memories of her smile, her laughter, her generosity, and her affection will last forever.
Rest in peace, dear Jeanette. You will forever be in our hearts and memories.
