Jeanette F. West

Jeanette F. West 98 , formerly of Lake Geneva, died Friday, December 11, 2015, at Holton Manor Nursing Home, Elkhorn. One day short of her 99th birthday. She was born December 12, 1916, in Lake Geneva, the daughter of Otto and Sibyl Holsinger Schulz. Jeanette grew up in Lake Geneva and graduated from Lake Geneva High School in 1937. She married LeRoy West in Greenville, SC on June 19, 1943. He preceded her in death on August 28, 1992. Jeanette was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church , Lake Geneva,where she was a dedicated organist for seventy-five years. She started playing for services at the age of fifteen. In her early years, she played for all services, weddings and funerals, as well as being accompanist for the choir. Later in life she was organist just for funerals, playing for her last funeral at the age of 93. She was also a devoted caregiver to her husband, who had multiple sclerosis for many years, until the time of his death. Surviving are her daughter, Linda West, Lake Geneva, a brother ,Cliff (Polly) Schulz, Lake Geneva,nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Richard Schulz , sister Norma Young and a nephew, David Schulz. Services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, December 19, 2015 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lake Geneva, with Pastor Peter Metzger officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lake Geneva. Visitation at 11:00 a.m. until time of services. Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church Organ Fund or to a charity of your choice. Thank you to Pastor Karl Schultz and Pastor Peter Metzger for their visits to Jeanette. Appreciation to Dr. Garth Schneider for his attentive care and concern, Dr. Ruggeri and the staff at the Vince Lombardi Clinic; and Rainbow Hospice.
