Joan Mckinney Johnson

--Darien--Joan M. Johnson, 80 of Madison Street, Darien died at her home on Monday, Dec. 19,2016 peacefully in her sleep. Joan was born Sept. 11, 1936 in Wisconsin the daughter of Theodore Christian Snyder and Clara Lavinia Knight. She married Jim McKinney in 1953 and then Married Frank Johnson 1972. Both are predeceased. She was very active in Darien Seniors cards and game club. She was active member of Triune Lutheran Church. Joan and her husband Frank owned and operated the Darien Hardware Store for many years. Joan was a longtime Darien Cemetery Board Member. She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Evans of Darien. Two sons, Jeff (Jean) McKinney of Delavan and Jim (Peggy) McKinney of Milton. 4 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily,Kristy, Kelly Taylor and TC. 6 great grandchildren also survive. There will be a gathering at the Darien Public Library starting at 10am Friday, Dec. 23rd, with a prayer service at 11am conducted by the Rev. Dale Blanchard. The family will adjourn briefly to the Darien Cemetery for burial. Friends are encouraged to stay at Library for cards, games and a luncheon from 10 to all afternoon. Memorials to the Triune Lutheran Church are suggested in lieu of flowers. Betzer Funeral Home is serving the Johnson Family.
