Joanne E. Hendrickson

Joanne E. Hendricksen of Powers Lake passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, April 4th, 2018 at the age of 89. Born to Wen and Elizabeth Fonk of Kenosha, Joanne was the youngest of six siblings, attended Bradford High school and was a member of St. Thomas Church. In 1948, she met the love of her life, Roger Hendricksen. They were married in 1949 and had five children - Jane, William, Laura, Margaret and Paul. Joanne and Roger owned and operated Hendricksen's Sausage Shop and Delicatessen on 39th Avenue in Kenosha for many years. They sold the business in 1978 and retired to their summer home in Powers Lake. Joanne enjoyed playing golf and bridge with many close friends. Joanne was predeceased in death by her husband, Roger; her daughter, Laura; and her daughter, Margaret. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Noyer, and son-in-law, John Noyer, of Fontana, WI; son, William Hendricksen, and daughter-in-law, Trish Hendricksen, of California; and son, Paul Hendricksen, of Texas. She will also be missed by her seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A celebration of Joanne's 90th birthday has been planned for this year. Although she will not be with us, in July we will celebrate her life and the gifts she gave us all with a glass of brandy while listening to Frank Sinatra sing Summer Wind.
