John Nicholas Brady

John N. Brady, 68, Lake Geneva, WI died Tuesday June 23, 2015 at his residence. John was born Oct. 16, 1946 in Evanston, IL the son of Robert and Nancy Jordt Brady. United in marriage to Carol Gerber Aug. 30, 1968 in North Chicago, IL. John touched the lives of many Lake Geneva families over his 33 years as an elementary school teacher. He loved teaching children in the classroom, and was known for his kickball games on the playground. John also love coaching and was recently selected into the Hall of Fame at Faith Christian School where he dedicated many years to girls basketball. John loved Geneva Lake and was known by many as "captain" due to his 40 years of service with the Lake Geneva Cruise Line. John was an active member of Southern Lakes Evangelical Free Church and had a passion for supporting young couples and for teaching the Bible. His wisdom and patience made John a valued board member of various ministries over the past decades, and often a counselor for countless individuals. John loved Lionel trains, boating, biking, camping and attending countless events to support his beloved grandchildren. Most of all, John was devoted husband, dad and grandpa who will be greatly missed. Surviving are his wife Carol of 47 years, daughters, Angela (Trey) Smith, Grand Rapids, MI. and Andrea (Matthew) Termaat, Elkhorn, WI, son Matthew (Melinda) Brady, Williams Bay, WI, 7 grandchildren, Kelley, Sean, Ben, Olivia, Madeline, Brayden and Kendra. Brothers, Charles Brady, Rockford, IL and Michael (Tammy) Brady, Genoa City, WI. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday June 30, 2015 at the Southern Lakes Evangelical Free Church of Elkhorn, WI with Pastors Charles and Sean Sweetman officiating. Burial will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8:00 P.M. Monday June 29, 2015 at the Steinke Funeral Home, Lake Geneva.
