John Edward Harmon

John E. Harmon 86, formerly of Lake Geneva, Wi. passed away Tuesday Sept. 13, 2016 at the Lakeland Health Care Center, Elkhorn, Wi. John was born Feb. 24, 1930 in Champaign, Il. the son of Harold & Cleo Ricketts Harmon, United in marriage to Phyllis C. Light June 30, 1951 in Manteno, Il. John is a member of the Lake Geneva United Methodist Church, Life member of the Lake Geneva Masonic Lodge #44 F&AM, Life Member of the Lake Geneva Kiwanis Club, Member of the VFW post #5811,Lake Geneva, Wi. Served in the US Army during the Korean War. Owned & operated the State Farm Insurance Agency of Lake Geneva for 33 years, retiring in 1994. Surviving is his wife Phyllis, Elkhorn, Wi., Daughter Brenda (Rodney) Thurin, Elkhorn and a son Tom Harmon of Delavan, Wi., two grandchildren, Michalia Thurin & Joshua Harmon, a brother Gerald (Mary) Harmon of Vicksburg, Mississippi. Preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother Eugene Harmon. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at the Steinke Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Services with Pastor Heather Brewer of the Lake Geneva United Methodist Church officiating. Burial with Full Military Rites will be at the Oak hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00P.M. with Masonic Services at 4:30P.M. conducted by Lake Geneva Masonic Lodge #44 F&AM.at the Steinke Funeral Home.
