John Kevin Markgraf

April 10, 1954 — February 10, 2016

John Kevin Markgraf, 61, of Delavan passed away in his home unexpectedly on February 10, 2016. John is survived by the love of his life of 37 years; Bonnie, his two daughters; Tanya (Nick) Chiapusio and Ashley Rose (fianc Anthony), Mother-in-law and Father-in-law (Lorita and Vernelle Klein), two sisters; Joan Christianson and Ellen (Chuck) Gallagher, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins among many other family and friends. John was a selfless individual that serviced his family and community. He was a member of the Town of Delavan Fire, Rescue and Dive Team for 15 years where he saved many lives. He touched many lives through his passion, sports. He spent many years with the Red Devils football league as well as Bigfoot Recreational. He was an avid WIAA official of football, basketball, baseball, softball and soccer for many years, with Bigfoot being his second home. Recently, he began coaching Blue Devils youth football with his 'adopted son,' Brandon Hatch. John was known by many as 'MacGyver,' he could fix virtually anything. He was a member of Sugar Creek Lutheran Church. He was employed by Walworth County for 25 plus years keeping our roads safe. John is proceeded in death by his Father; John K. Markgraf Sr., Mother; Leah (Boss) Markgraf and Step-Father; Lou Pitt Sr. A memorial in celebration of John's life will be held February 20, 2016 with visitation from 9am-12pm with service and luncheon to follow at Sugar Creek Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, , Sugar Creek Lutheran Church or Blue Devils Youth Football.
