Joy Carrie Becker, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026. She was born on May 12, 1959, and was welcomed into the world by her parents Curtis C. Becker and Mary D. (Wiersma) Becker. She was baptized on May 31, 1959, and confirmed in her faith on April 15, 1973, both at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Woodland, Wisconsin. Her confirmation verse, Revelation 2:10, remained a guiding promise throughout her life: “Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.”
Joy grew up on the family farm, where she learned the value of hard work, responsibility, and the simple joys of rural life. She especially cherished the time spent cooking alongside her mother, creating meals and memories that stayed with her forever.
She graduated with the Hustisford High School Class of 1977, proud of the friendships and experiences that shaped her early years. She went on to graduate from Fond Du Lac MPTI in May of 1980 with an associate's degree in food manufacturing, canning and freezing.
Throughout her life, Joy lived in many different places, but she eventually made her home in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. She worked for Dean Foods and Lazer Electric, where she was known for her dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic. Joy was a current member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Delavan, Wisconsin, where her faith continued to anchor her. Joy’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She was deeply proud of her daughter, Nichelle Kraayvanger, and she adored her grandsons: Christian Becker, Rhett Mooney, and Aleksander Mooney. They were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Joy is survived by her daughter Nichelle, her grandsons Christian, Rhett, and Aleksander, and her siblings:
James C. Becker, Iron Ridge
Jerome C. (Denise) Becker, Lebanon
Judith C. Baerwald, Juneau
John C. (Pammy) Becker, Iron Ridge
Joel C. Becker, Iron Ridge
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great‑nieces, great‑nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Joy is preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, her infant brother, and many other loved ones who welcomed her into eternal rest.
Joy will be remembered for her gentle heart, her steadfast faith, her love of family, and the quiet strength she carried through every season of life. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services in honor of Joy will be held on Saturday, July 11th, 2026, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM, service at 11:00 AM, and a luncheon to follow at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (416 W Geneva st. Delavan, WI, 53115.)
In lieu of flowers, or donations (preferably cash) to help aid in funeral expenses, memorials can be made directly to the family.
