Joyce M. Ruhlin

Joyce M. Ruhlin, 85 of Delavan, WI passed to eternal life at her residence on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. Joyce was born on April 4, 1932 in Chicago, IL the Daughter of Art and Louise Bubert. She went to Steinmetz High School in Chicago, IL. where she found and later married her high school sweet heart Wayne Ruhlin in 1954. Joyce played professional women's softball from 1949-1950 in Chicago, IL. Before getting married and moving to Wisconsin she worked for prudential Insurance Company in Chicago. Joyce also worked for Interlaken between 1976-1980. Joyce loved every minute of coaching girls' softball ages 6-12 years in Williams Bay, WI during the summer as well as boys' baseball ages 13-16 years. She was a member and longtime president of the Williams Bay Women's Auxiliary and enjoyed meeting and talking with people. Surviving is her husband Wayne, daughter Janice (Gary) Duffy. Granddaughter Tegan, who was the apple of her eye which Joyce enjoyed music and watching Tegan preform. Precedeed in death by her parents Art and Louise Bubert, sister Marilyn, son David, in-laws Roy and Lillian Ruhlin, sister-in-law Carol Ruhlin, and nephew Brad Ruhlin. Joyce was a wonderful fun-loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother with a zest for life who loved her sports. She always had a smile and positive attitude. A laugh and voice you will always remember. She is forever in our hearts and will be greatly missed. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Como Community Church, Lake Como, WI with Pastor Bob Kamps officiating. Gathering of friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. to time of Services. In lieu of flowers make memorials to the American Diabetes Foundation of Wisconsin.
