Juliann C. Stern

February 6, 1957 — May 19, 2023

Juliann ("Julie") Camille Stern, 66, of Cincinnati, OH died peacefully in her Lake Geneva home on May 19th, in the arms of her husband, David. Julie was born in 1957 to Mildred "Millie" and Robert Heeg. Raised in Cincinnati, OH, she graduated from McAuley High School with the Class of 1975. A few years later, she was raising four children (Robert, Kathryn, Sarah, and Alan) with husband James Hester. Eventually they settled in Decatur, IL where she lived for over 20 years. Julie's high achiever personality coupled with great interpersonal skills made her a success at anything she put her mind to. She excelled, whether working at the radio station, in real estate, or insurance. She was the top salesperson in the world for Tupperware, and had a successful career at Decatur Electronics, as Director of Research & Development, Sales and Marketing, and Human Relations. She was also ever-present in the lives of her children - school plays, show choir competitions, sporting events, and scouts. Her true passion was always helping and healing others. She volunteered for seven years as a hospice caregiver in Illinois, bringing her signature compassion and comfort. Julie married David Stern in 2001. When given a terminal cancer diagnosis in the early 2000s, she didn't take it laying down. She changed her life, beat the cancer, and dedicated herself further to health and healing others. Julie went to college at age 49, first at Richland Community College in Decatur, IL, then MIdwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, IL - graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Nutrition and a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine. Julie and David moved to Lake Geneva, WI in 2010 where she went into business as Tea House Acupuncture. She healed and taught countless people, bringing relief when western medicine had failed. She was very happy in her work. Julie also continued to volunteer - running the five day ‘Safety Town' event for five years through the Geneva Lakes Women's Association, and also volunteered for a variety of other service organizations. Julie will be remembered best as a mother, a healer, a wife and friend. She loved family, helping people, and holidays. She always brought comfort to whoever was nearby. Julie was preceded in death by her father Robert Heeg, sisters Jenny and Jane, son Jimmy, and daughter Kathryn. She is survived by her mother Millie, four siblings, Bob, Rich, Ron and Joan, and countless nieces and nephews, three children. Julie had four step-children, Derek, Valerie, Katherine and Erica, and eight grandchildren, Alyse, Casimir, Liam, Alexa, Annabelle, Charlotte, Jenna and Chloe, and her spouse, David. A celebration of her life will be held at Lazarcyk Family Funeral Home in Delavan, WI on May 27 at 2:00pm. Family and friends may make contributions in memory of Julie Stern to the Dementia Society of America at www.DementiaSociety.org/donate. Lazarczyk Family Funeral Homes is proudly serving the family.
