Karl E. Ganhs, 92, of Elkhorn, Wisconsin, passed away on February 23, 2022, in Delavan, Wisconsin. He was born September 28, 1929 to Herbert and Lydia (Kamholtz) Ganhs in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Karl has always been an avid Badger and Green Bay Packer fan. He married his high school classmate, Violet Fischer, on March 1, 1952, in Milwaukee. They made their home and worked as farm hands on a dairy farm near Waukesha. Karl eventually farmed on his own and became a milk hauler. They farmed in the Oconomowoc area before moving to Elkhorn. Karl worked for a PCA for a few years as a loan officer, and then decided it was time to go back to the farm again. He then moved to the Millard area on a dairy farm where he retired from farming and began doing garage door installations for Lifetime Doors. Karl was a man of many talents. He liked to visit with folks, work with his hands in his garage creating things from wood, and enjoyed gardening too. He loved playing a card game of Sheepshead with a cold beer on a hot summer day, in addition to hearing about and seeing the activities his children and grandchildren took part in. He is survived by his wife, Violet, and his three children, Susan (Kenneth) Benning, David (Brenda) Ganhs, and Jeffrey (Chris) Ganhs. Karl is also survived by his grandchildren, Ryan, Kara, Gina, Matthew, Theresa, Davin, Angela, Katie Sue, Stacey, and Alyssa; 16 great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Lois Darkow; and many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
