Kenneth "Kenny" Glenn LaFon Sr. (1930-2016) Elkhorn, Wi Kenneth Glenn LaFon Sr. age 86 of Hickory North Carolina passed away Saturday December 3rd from complications of a sudden illness, surrounded by his soul mate of 34 years Dianna Marie (Canova) LaFon and three children Victoria Marie LaFon, Robert Glenn LaFon and Kenneth LaFon Jr. Also surviving are grandchildren Sophia Marie LaFon and Addison LaFon. Ken was a loving, loyal, devoted husband and father. Kenny loved life and lived it to the fullest. He knew all walks of life and treasured all his friendships. Ken was a long standing businessman and bar owner in Rockford owning several different taverns - The Cypress Lounge, The Plantation, Ken's Hideaway x 2, The Red Garter, The Blue Garter, and The Surf Lounge. He was also part owner in Bob and Ed's on South Main for a short time. Ken was also an active member in the American Lombardi Club, The Verdi Club and The Venetian Club, which he loved to frequent with a "vodka and soda" and "shoot the breeze" with the guys. Everyday he told his wife, "I love you." Every phone conversation or before leaving the house he always said , "I love you." He not only said it but he showed it. His love never wavered. Are only vice is that the love affair didn't last longer. He truly was the best man in the world. The best father and grandfather anyone could ask for. His unconditional love is ever lasting and will remain in our hearts forever. A "Celebration of Life" will be held at The American Lombardi Club Thursday December 15th, from 4-8p, 209 Olive St, Rockford Il 61107.
