Larry “Whooie” Thomas

January 3, 1950 — January 30, 2025

Larry “Whooie” Thomas passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Pam Allie-Thomas, with whom he shared over 43 plus years of marriage. He was born to the late Norman and Margaret Thomas in Elkhorn on January 3, 1950. He graduated from Elkhorn Highschool in 1968.

Whooie valiantly served his country in the US Army during the height of the Vietnam war and was proud of being a grunt medic. He quietly bore the scars of that service throughout his life. He worked for Thomas Brothers Plumbing and the Delavan-Darien School District.

Whooie was a good man, a devoted husband to Pam, caring step-father to Jason (Andrea) Brewer, grandkids Graham, Rory, Flynn, Hayden a kind brother-in-law to Janet and Tom, his sister Christine and a faithful friend to his buddies in Delavan. He loved the music he grew up with and was the go-to on any song name, artist, or year it came out.

During the past two years he faced many medical issues with grace and courage.

Whooie’s family would like to give special thanks to the VA for the care he received throughout his illness and the scooter that he was able to receive. He loved “scootering”. Whether it was just around town sightseeing or to vist with his friends at the local bar.

Whooie was not a sports fanatic but he followed the Packers, but his true passion was college football and his two favorite teams where LSU and The Badgers.

Whooie and Pam traveled around the state and Pam dragged him to visit the Vietnam War Wall in Washington DC, it was here that he found names of friends he lost and found the healing for his soul.

In lieu of flowers Whooie’s Family is asking that any donations be made to the Lakeland Animal Shelter as he was very tolerating of Pam’s cat rescues.

Whooie I hope you found the peace you needed and know that I will always have you in my heart. -Pam
