Lauren Ann Thomas, Age 64 years. Longtime resident of Delavan. Passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at her residence.
Lauren was born on September 17th, 1960 to the Late Wayne and Gay Thomas.
Lauren dedicated her life to helping others. She spent over a decade running a youth outreach program dedicated to helping kids in gangs who were addicted to drugs and alcohol to get off the streets to a better life.
After moving to Wisconsin, she spent a few years as a “foster parent” trying to give kids a safe and secure home to grow up in. Her true passion however came in her love of animals. She grew up with both cats and dogs and loved being around them whether at home or volunteering at a local animal shelter. She loved volunteering at “Toledo Keeping the Faith Foundation”, a charity dedicated to helping cats find the care they need, whether that’s a warm place to stay and food to eat or to find a new loving home.
Also, upon moving to Wisconsin, shed decided to pursue her love of antiques, first becoming the Manager and then the owner of Lauren’s Antique and Art Centre, which she has been affiliated with for over 30 years. She also grew the reputation for her over the top Halloween decorations and love for handing out full size candy bars to the trick or treaters, as Halloween was her favorite holiday. When she wasn’t watching movies, football, and/or eating pizza, she loved donating to different animal causes, like animal shelters and wolf conservation.
She was always one to focus on the good and never the negative, and as such was hoping that rather than spending time mourning at her at funeral, that anyone who is capable and willing, to make a donation to either “Toledo Keeping the Faith Foundation” or to your local/favorite animal shelter. As in life, nothing would make her happier than knowing there are animals out there getting the help they need.
Lauren is survived by her son Jason Wayne Thomas, Brother Mark Thomas, nieces Hilary, Kristen and Julia. She was preceded in death by her parents. A private family service was held.
