Leonard William Quake, age 78 years. Former longtime resident of Lake Geneva and currently of
Elkhorn, WI. He married the love of his life, Renee M. Nagel on April 28, 1972, at the First
Congregational Church in Lake Geneva.
Leonard grew up in Genoa City and graduated from Badger High School in 1965. He proudly served
his country in the Army during the Vietnam conflict and retired as the Shipping and Warehouse
Manager for DEG Music Products.
He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, never missing a pitch during Brewers games, or a Matt Lepay
“TOUCHDOWN WISCONSIN” call on Saturday afternoons. Regardless of what was on TV, the
Green Bay Packers were of the utmost priority on Sundays. Beyond sports, music was always on
around the house, from Sousa to The Beatles to Jimmy Buffett. Jeopardy was also considered to be
“cannot miss” TV when he had control of the remote.
Leonard was also a proud military veteran. Though initially reserved about his time in Vietnam, as
the years passed, he became more open about his military service. He wrote a narrative to help
friends and family learn about his time in the Army. Upon retirement, he dedicated his time to
learning about those soldiers who never came home to ensure they would not be forgotten.
Leonard was a beloved husband, father and grandpa devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife
Renee, daughters Lori (Stu) Swance and Lisa Quake, grandchildren Whitney (Jan) Starczewski and
Jacob (Lauren) Swance, and great grandchildren Noah and Chloe. He is also survived by many
friends.
Private services will be held with interment at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Lazarczyk Family Funeral
Home of Lake Geneva and Delavan is proudly serving the family.
