Lila Marie De Vries, 94 years old of Lake Geneva, WI passed away Friday, February 6, 2026. She was born October 22, 1931 to the late Roy and Fannie Mae (Williams) Blood in Wilmont, WI. After high school, Lila began her career as a telephone operator and then went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Francis “Doc” De Vries in Lake Geneva on October 29, 1949 - and he preceded her in death on January 15, 2016. Lila enjoyed having her children’s friends over, listening to their stories, and sharing stories of her childhood. She was a buyer at the gift shop at the Playboy Club in Lake Geneva and met many wonderful people along the way. Lila was a high school kitchen worker before ending her working years in the antique business. Upon retirement, Lila enjoyed being a caretaker and looking forward to her visits from church members and friends.
Survivors include, her daughter, Danitta De Vries Fabri of Lake Geneva, WI; sons, Gary (Karen) De Vries of St. Augustine, FL, and Steven (Jolene) De Vries of Arlington, TX; grandchildren, Zachary Fabri, Tina (Nathan) Wikman, Rachel (Rob) Miranda, and Danielle (Joe) West; great-grandchildren, Jaime, Julia, and Jessica Wikman and Kaylee Fabri; one niece; and eight nephews. Along with her husband, Lila was preceded in death by four sisters; two brothers; two nieces; and four nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church 700 N. Bloomfield Rd. Lake Geneva, WI 53147 - please check the obituary for future details. Inurnment will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery Lake Geneva, WI. In lieu of flowers, donations be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church. For additional information, please call (262)-248-2320.
