Lynette Umnus

Lynette (Olsen) Umnus, 93, of Lake Geneva, WI peacefully passed away Friday, September 18, 2026. She was married to Donald L. "Jake" Umnus and he preceded her in death on December 7, 2019. She was born on October 7, 1932 in Chicago and was adopted by Helen (Lauer) and Chris Olsen. After Helen died when Lynette was 15 Chris married Elsie (Rahn).

Lynette is survived by her three children: Susan (Dave) Angus, Scott Umnus (Ann Marie) and Steven (Tara Sabin) Umnus and six grandchildren, Scout Umnus (Sebastian), Geneva Angus, Riley Umnus, Joaquin Sabin, Ava Angus and Isabel Umnus.

Lynette was a second-grade school teacher initially in Burlington, then Woods School, followed by many years in Williams Bay. Lynette loved spending time with her family and traveling with Jake. After retirement they traveled often. She and Jake especially loved the annual family summer trip to Door County. Lynette was a long time Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and Milwaukee Bucks fan. Lynette loved her telephone calls with many friends and family.

Visitation will be held from 11:00AM until the time of service at 1:00PM Friday, October 16, 2026 at Lazarczyk Family Funeral Home 515 Center St. Lake Geneva, WI 53147. Interment to immediately follow in Oak Hill Cemetery Lake Geneva, WI. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to cancer research and the American Diabetes Association. The family would like to thank Golden Years Skilled Nursing of Lake Geneva and the Walworth County Senior Meals on Wheels.
