Margaret S. (McVicker) Kutz, 94, longtime resident of Lake Geneva, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017. She was born November 21, 1922, in McKeesport, PA, the daughter of Frances and Hugh McVicker. She graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA. Margaret served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army as a nurse. She met her husband, Donald C. Kutz, in the service during World War II, and they were married for 64 years. Margaret continued to renew her RN license for many years while she focused on raising her family. She enjoyed a good cup of hot tea and believed every meal should end with a sweet dessert. Margaret was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. She loved singing Irish lullabies, the color orchid and visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margaret is survived by sister, Sr. Susan McVicker R.S.M., Pittsburgh, PA; her children, Hugh F. (Marge) Kutz, Ellijay, GA, and Susan (Andrew) Vrba, Morristown, TN; grandchildren, Jennifer (Casey) Martin, Jessica (David) Ennis, John (Christina) Kutz, Maureen (Jeff) Cathey, Matthew (Jamilia) Vrba, Brad (Angela) Vrba, Bridget (John) Krause, Megan Wieners, Maura Wieners, and Dana Wieners; 17 great-grandchildren, Ryan & Laura Martin, Morgan Gregory & Colleen Ennis, Hailey & Brendan Kutz, Spencer & Rachel Cathey, Peyton, Audrey, Callista & Andrew Vrba, Kayla & Avery Vrba, Emilia & Marcella Krause, and Levi Nindorf. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Donald; daughter Barbara (Kutz) Wieners; and four brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be Thursday, April 20 from 6-8pm at the Steinke-Lazarczyk Funeral Home in Lake Geneva. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Bishop James Schuerman on April 21 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lake Geneva at 11am.
