Mark D. Christenson, loving husband of Cindy Reid-Christenson, 904 E. Main St. Morris, IL and formerly of Lake Geneva, passed away unexpectedly at home Wed. Oct. 22, 2014 at the age of 51. Born Oct. 27, 1962 in Elkhorn. Mark was raised on the Curran family farm on Hwy 50 in Lake Geneva where at a young age began farming and raising cattle along side his grandfather Vincent (Hank) Curran. He attended and graduated from Badger High School and was a member of FFA where he received numerous awards for his champion cattle. Later in life he took on the trade of roofing being employed by various area companies with the last one being Souther Lakes Roofing. All of his life, Mark loved hunting, fishing and farming, along with old tractors such as International Harvester, Allis Chalmers, and Massey Harris. He also was an avid NASCAR and GREEN BAY Packers fan. Mark is survived by his loving wife Cindy, stepson Tyler Reid of Morris, IL, uncle, James "Louie" Curran of Virginia, in-laws, Tom and ‘Esther Reid, brothers in-law Mike Reid and Ron (Tammy) Ried all of Ohio; Chuck (Char) Reid of Wis, sister-in-law, Debbie(Rusty) Bell of Calif. Along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his grandparents Vincent "Hank" and Mary Curran, loving mother whom he adored, Mary Curran Christenson and uncle, William Curran. Graveside Services will be held Sat. Nov. 8, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Cemetery, Hwy 50, Lake Geneva. In Lieu of flowers donations to the family would be appreciated. Steinke Funeral Home is assisting the family with local arrangements.
