Mary Lee Dusick (nee Kemmeter). Born to Eternal Life on August 29, 2024, at home in West Allis, Wisconsin, at the age of 89.
Loving and devoted wife of the late Roy. Beloved mother of David (Elen), the late Anna Dusick, MD (Jerry Kalyniuk), Joseph, Peter (Flora), and the late Thomas (Kim). Proud grandmother of Alex (Faith), Sarah, Andrew, Eric, Jimmy, Samantha (Caleb), Ethan, Emma, Simon, and adoring great-grandmother of Cadence, Micah, Ari, and Antoni.
She was also the best “Mumma” to Pet (RIP, 2003) and Rigby (RIP, September 20, 2024: her sweet little guardian angel in her final years, Rigby reunited with her in heaven a short three weeks after she arrived there). Further survived by many other wonderful relatives and friends and preceded in death by even more. Mary was married for 51 years to the love of her life, Roy Dusick, DDS, until his passing on August 20, 2013.
Mary was very active in her parish church, Mother of Perpetual Help (formerly Mary Queen of Heaven), beginning as founder of the summer bible school program in the early 1970s, then in later years parish council, high school religious education, prison ministry, festival worker, sacristan, Eucharistic minister, and reader (everything but usher and choir member!), as well as a volunteer for many years at the Capuchin-sponsored St. Ben’s Meal Program. She was a graduate of Marian College and had a varied career: a schoolteacher prior to marriage, a “happy homemaker” while raising her five children, then positions in market research, human resources training and development, and office support work. Once she had more time for herself, she looked forward to the occasional weekend religious retreat. While never having traveled to the far-off places she imagined going to when she was younger, she nonetheless enjoyed “mystery tours” and other bus trips around the country with her Roysie and a fun group of fellow travelers.
Funeral services on Saturday, October 19, 2024, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and memorial mass at 11:00 a.m., Mother of Perpetual Help Church (east site), 2322 S. 106 St. (Lincoln Avenue at 106 Street), West Allis, WI 53227.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Ben’s Community Meal Program or Capuchin Franciscan Province of St. Joseph, if desired.
Though there are countless things you may remember about Mary, a few likely would be her immeasurable kindness and willingness to help, her appreciation of a good laugh, and her beautiful sweet smile. To echo her strong faith and joyous belief in the resurrection, we will simply say, “Bye, Mom … for now.”
