Mary Ann Johnson

Mary Ann (Baer) Johnson, 92 years of age, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025.

She was born on May 22, 1932, the daughter of Walter and Ruth (Hopkins) Baer. Mary Ann attended Quinn Elementary School in Como and then North Springfield Elementary. She then graduated from Lake Geneva High School in 1949.

Mary Ann worked as a clerk for various Lake Geneva businesses. She first married Robert Hansen of Lake Geneva and had two sons, Randy and Barry. She then married Walter Johnson of Lake Geneva in 1974 and acquired seven stepsons.

A lover of horses, Mary Ann belonged to or participated in various Horse Organizations and activities. She often watched horse races on TV.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, son Barry, and four of her stepsons; Ron, Les, Walter Jr., and Kevin.

She is survived by her son Randy, Renee (Barry’s widow), three stepsons Ken (Diana), Steve, and Mike (Donna), as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Lazarczyk Funeral Homes of Lake Geneva (515 Center Street, Lake Geneva, WI 53147) with visitation from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. and a funeral service at 12 p.m., officiated by Pastor Bob Kamps of Como Community Church. Interment to follow at Springfield Union Cemetery.
