Mary Ann Ketchpaw

Ketchpaw, Mary Ann (Clausen) passed away, surrounded by the family she cherished, lived for, and loved on Friday, February 13, 2015 after a 14 month battle against lung cancer. Mary was born on March 27, 1960 in Elkhorn, Wisconsin to Marvin and Joyce (Ayers) Clausen. She attended Badger High School an graduated in 1978. She then waitressed at her parent's restaurants, Clausen's Caf and Clausen's Corners. Mary met her true love, Michael Ketchpaw, in 1984. She and Michael were married on October 6, of that year. The two recently celebrated 30 amazing years together. It wasn't until July 19, 1986 when Mary found her true calling; motherhood. Mary gave birth to her first born, Lindsey, on this date. On March 22, 1989, Kimberly was born and on April 6, 1993, Abigail was born. Mary was able to stay at home and care for her three children. Mary touched the lives of many families through her babysitting career. On June 23, 2012 Lindsey married her high school sweetheart Lucas Hansen. The two blessed Mary with her first grandchild and her rock, Sawyer James, on November 2nd, 2013. Nothing made Mary happier than being a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. Throughout Mary's lifetime, whether babysitting or raising her own family. Mary spread warmth and love with whomever she surrounded. She was quick to lend a helping hand to anyone, and always thought of others far before herself. Mary was diagnosed with a very rare lung cancer on October 18, 2013. Her strength and determination shined through during this strenuous battle. Mary is survived by her husband, three children, and grandson, as well as, her mother, Joyce and brother, Thomas Clausen, several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Marvin, her sister, Linda (Clausen) Luth, her grandparents, Elmer and Lila (King) Clausen, and Ernest and Gertrude (Krause) Ayers. Celebration of Mary's Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday February 21, 2015 at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hwy 120, Lake Geneva, WI, with Pastor MaryAnn Moller-Gunderson officiating. Interment will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the Steinke Funeral Home & Cremation Services, and at the church on hour prior to time of services.
