Mary Ellen Rebenstorf

Mary Ellen Zabel Rebenstorf, 92 of Elkhorn, Wisconsin entered eternal heavenly peace on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015 at Lakeland Health Care Center. She was born on Feb. 12, 1923 in Elkhorn, WI , the eldest daughter of Paul and Nellie (Slattery) Zabel. She was a graduate of Whitewater High School and UW -Whitewaer. Mary married Howard Rebenstorf on January 25, 1947 in Elkhorn. Mary was a secretary for Atty Charles E. Wilson of Elkhorn, and held several other secretarial positions before her graduation from UW-Whitewater and taught a short time at Waterford High School . Mary was an excellent student and received many awards such as graduating cum laude from all elementary schools and UW-Whitewater. Mary spent ten winters in Winter Haven, FL with Howard and continued to enjoy the Winter Haven warm temperatures for nine more years. She loved to play all kinds of card games, sew, crochet and visiting with family and friends. Mary was the beloved Mother to Cindy (Larry) Heindl of Delavan and two grandchildren, Robert Heindl and Stephanie (Shawn) Klug both of Delavan She is also survived by a sister, Mrs Alice Fairchild of Lake Geneva. Mary was predeceased in death by her parents, husband Howard in 1993 and her beloved sister Ruth Kuhnle and nieces and nephews. The family wish to thank the staff at Lakeland Health Care Center for the wonderful care given to Mary during her stay there. Funeral Services are Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015 at the Chapel of Roselawn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Laura McLeod officiating at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens, Delavan Twsp. Friends may call at in the Chapel at Roselawn from 10am to 10:30am on Sat. Nov. 14th. Betzer Funeral Home is serving the family.
