Michael Wallace Loomer

Michael Wallace Loomer, 66, longtime resident of Elkhorn walked into the loving arms of his Savior, Saturday January 13, 2024. Michael was born October 22, 1957 in Elkhorn, Wisconsin to Merle and Eileen Loomer. He married Colleen (Matthews) Loomer April 30, 1977, at Como Community Church. They shared 46 years 8 months and 13 days of a life filled with love and adventure.

Michael graduated from Wiliams Bay High School in 1975. Proud Cold War Marine who served in all 3 Divisions of the Corp as a mortarman from 1975-1978. He was stationed in Okinawa, Japan for a year just months after he married Colleen and then completed his active-duty enlistment at Camp LeJeune in North Carolina. Michael then served in the US Army National Guard out of Burlington, Wisconsin from 1986-1989.

Michael was an avid reader and lifelong student and lover of History, Art and Music. He loved taking motorcycle rides with family and friends. Any weather permitting day you could find Michael sitting with a book along the shores of Geneva Lake where he grew up, it was his favorite place to reflect and recharge.

Michael was many things to many people, but first and foremost he was a servant of the living King of Kings, Son, Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Great-Uncle, Friend, Supervisor, School Board Member, School Board President, Educator, Choir Member, Worship Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Coffee House Leader, Church Chair, Mission Trip Leader, Class President, Marine and Soldier just to name a few of the roles he filled in so many people's lives. Michael was never one to take the credit or to have the spotlight shone on himself. He always did his best to ascribe praise to others and glorify his Heavenly Father.

He is survived by: his wife Colleen; children Elizabeth (Jim) Brehm, Micah (Cho Hee) Loomer; father Merle (Joan) Loomer; siblings Dan Loomer, Tom (Anna) Loomer, Lynn (Walter) Clark; brothers in law David (Angel) and William Matthews. As well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and claimed family. He is preceded in death by: his mother Eileen Loomer.
