Michele Ruiz (nee Northern) of Lake Geneva, WI passed away peacefully to eternal life surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. She left behind a legacy of love and devotion that will forever echo through the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Born May 27th, 1954 in Chicago, IL Michele dedicated over five decades of her life to her craft as a master seamstress, honing her skills with dedication and passion. Her needle danced through fabric, weaving tales of beauty and elegance, leaving behind a tapestry of memories that will be cherished by generations to come. She married Mitchell S. Ruiz on April 22, 1974 in Wheaton, IL and just celebrated their 50th anniversary.
Yet, Michele's true masterpiece was her family. As a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she poured her boundless love and care into each moment spent with her loved ones. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and affection, where laughter echoed and memories flourished.
In her retirement years, Michele found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether tending to her bountiful garden, casting her line in the tranquil waters, or crafting heartfelt gifts for her dear ones, she embraced each moment with grace and gratitude.
Humble and modest to her core, Michele's actions spoke volumes of her character. She led by example, teaching her family the true meaning of love, kindness, and resilience. Her gentle spirit and unwavering strength inspired all who knew her, leaving an indelible mark on their lives.
As we bid farewell to Michele, we take comfort in knowing that her love will continue to guide and inspire us in the journey ahead. Though she may no longer walk beside us, her presence will forever be felt in the rustle of leaves, the blooming of flowers, and the laughter of her cherished family.

She is survived by her loving husband Mitch Ruiz; children Vanessa L. Block, Elliot M. S. Ruiz, Hillary R. Lawson, and Felicia J. Davis; grandchildren Phoenix Higginson, Weston Kitzman, Christian Block, Grayson Block, Autumn Campfield, and Noah Davis. She is also survived by her mother Catherine (nee:Quartana) Lantz, step-father Ronald Lantz; siblings Michael Northern, Kathleen Witbrod, Susan Miller, Charmaine Carter, Richard Kutella, and Angelina Rodriguez, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Michele is preceded in death by her father Michael Northern, brother Russell Northern, niece Heather Fletcher, and father-in-law Salvador Ruiz.
Vigil service will be held at the Funeral Home (515 Center Street Lake Geneva, WI 53147) on Friday, May 24, 2024 starting at 4p.m. Following the service, visiting hours will take place until 6:30p.m.
Burial will take place at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Geneva, please meet at the Funeral Home (515 Center Street Lake Geneva, WI 53147) on Saturday, May 25th between 9:30 and 9:45a.m. Procession will leave at 9:45a.m.
