Patti passed away peacefully with her nieces Debra & Kara and her very dear friend Michelle at her side.

Patti was simple minded; she had special needs and was institutionalized at a very young age where she was taught many home duties, to live within a community and crafts. Her sister Martha became her guardian when she was in her early twenties and Patti moved from the institution to live with Martha’s family. She became the trusted caregiver to 11 of of Martha’s children as she helped with their daily care and house chores. She remained in Martha’s care for over 60 years, until Martha was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Shortly before Martha’s death, Patti was placed in the home of her niece Debra. Patti remained with her niece until a tragic fall took away her ability to care for herself and had to be place in a nursing home.

Patti’s favorite past-times were doing puzzles, needlepoint, latch hook rugs, paint by numbers, and her work was impeccable. She enjoyed listening to music and some of her favorites were Petula Clark, Kenny Roger’s and John Denver. She loved watching reruns of her favorite shows like Little house on the Prairie, Columbo, Leave it To Beaver, and I Love Lucy.

Patti was the last remaining survivor of her family and is preceded in death by her Mother and Father Thomas and Alice Cumming her 4 sisters Nora (Dallas) Kuehke, Mary (Jim) West, Martha (Roger) Hanson, Ruth Cumming and her brother Thomas Cumming, Jr.

She is also preceded in death by her niece Rachel Kaban, 2 nephews - Joseph and Anthony Hanson.

She is survived by 8 of Martha’s children, Keith (Donna) West, Ruth West, Timothy West, Daniel (Jesse Davis) West, Debra (Tom) Meeker, Paul West, Kara (Steven) Raflik, and Andy West, who have known her to be a very gentle and loving member of their family and will always remain devoted to her memory.

A private memorial service will be planned at a later date.
