Paul Thomas Trescher Smith

April 9, 1981 — June 9, 2024

Paul Thomas Trescher Smith, 43, of Janesville, Wisconsin, died on June 9th, 2024, at Mercy Health in Janesville.

Paul was born in Janesville, Wisconsin on April 9th, 1981 to Thomas Edvin Smith and Cathi Sue (Trescher) Wnuk. He is survived by his loving daughter, Willow Morel Smith; parents Cathi S. Wnuk and Thomas E. Smith; special friend Amy Simons; stepfather Greg Wnuk; brother Matthew (Jessica) Trescher; grandfather Norbert Trescher; aunt Michelle (Rodney) Southard; bonus brothers Steve Hartman and Jerry Everson; cousins Jonathan, Emily, and Rebecca; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Outdoorsy and a jack of all trades, Paul had many hobbies, interests, and friends. He enjoyed foraging for mushrooms (especially morels), camping, hunting, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking- Paul did it all. He found immense happiness and community through his love for motorcycles. Paul enjoyed old country music, especially Willie Nelson. He was creative, handy, crafty, and mechanically inclined, always doing projects around the house and for his family. His Halloween pumpkins were true masterpieces, as were the cakes he decorated for his daughter. Paul had a dry, sarcastic sense of humor, making friends wherever he went. His daughter, Willow, was the light of his life- their relationship was truly special and his love for her lives on.
